Transport and localization in random media: theory and applications

Michael Weinstein, Professor of Applied Mathematics and Professor of Mathematics, along with Ivan Corwin, Professor of Mathematics, co-hosted conference on Transport and localization in random media: theory and applications at Columbia University from May 1-3.

The conference presented “recent developments on wave propagation, scattering and diffusion in random media at the interface of probability theory, mathematical physics and partial differential equations.” This conference featured 15 leading researchers and over 60 participants, and was supported by Weinstein’s Simons Foundation Math + X Investigator Award, Corwin’s Packard Foundation Award, the NSF Research Network, KI-Net, and a grant from the NSF to support participation by junior researchers
