Martin & Oehrlein Win AMS Outstanding Student Presentation Awards

Two Atmospheric Science Ph.D. candidates in the APAM Department, Zane Martin, from Prof. Adam H. Sobel's group, and Jessie Oehrlein, from Prof. Lorenzo M. Polvani's group, won Outstanding Student Presentation Awards at the 2019 American Meteorological Society (AMS) Middle Atmosphere meeting which took place in Phoenix, AZ, from January 6-10, 2019.

Zane's talk was on "Modeling the MJO-QBO Relationship in a Reforecast Model" and Jessie's talk was titled "Separating and Quantifying the Distinct Impacts of El Niño and Stratospheric Sudden Warmings on North Atlantic and Eurasian Wintertime Climate" (joint work with Dr. Gabriel Chiodo and Prof. Lorenzo Polvani).
